PCT 2015 Day 102: A Surprisingly Busy Zero
- Start: 1,718.8
- End: 1,718.8
- Miles: 0
- Camp: Callahan’s
We had shared the room between 5 so it took a while to organise getting out for breakfast, but eventually 4 of us made it to Morning Glory round the corner from the motel. It had been given rave reviews and I was looking forward to testing it out. I wanted to try almost everything on the menu, but I was pleased with my omelette choice. Whilst we dragged out breakfast as long as possible inevitably it was soon time to start on the chores for the day.
The outdoor store in Ashland was excellent. They switched out Chug’s tent when he told them the zip was worn out, and they replaced four pairs of my Darn Tough socks (even the burned pair). The market and repackaging took an age, but eventually we were all done by noon. We arranged to split a shuttle back to Callahan’s with AllRight, Doolittle dropped us off in town before heading back to San Jose, and I saw my friend to the bus stop for his bus to the airport. It felt like the day had been non-stop, including a mile trek back to the motel in the hot sun to meet the shuttle!
At Callahan’s we signed up for the lawn camping and the all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner, and had a lazy evening in the lodge bar to make up for the busy morning. The food was good, and it will be hard to resist breakfast in the morning.
