  • It’s hard to beat autumn for early morning walks in the woods. Pick your perspective: the elegance of the cycle, leaves composting to feed the new growth of the coming year; the delicate complexity of carotenoids, anthocyanins, tannins and chlorophyll; perhaps simply a ready-made artist’s palette, enhanced by golden light; or a gentle melancholy from inevitable decay. There’s beauty in each of them. Me? I love it all. The smell of the rain, the feel of the mud under my feet, and the chill on my face. Quieter places as more people stay home.
